Then participate in the Mexican Dance Contest for the
event “Dancing with Mexico.”

Rules
1. The “Dance with Mexico” competition is open to all
people 18 years and older.
2. Couples or singles will be admitted to compete.
3. The song to be dance must be Mexican.
4. All participants are required to register.
Registration fee for the competition is $10 dollars per person. For
pre-registration, call Susana to 608-658-3755
5. The preliminary phase will be held at Pachucos (736 N.
Midvale Boulevard, Madison, WI. Behind Hilldale Mall next to movie
theaters), February 24th from 4 to 7 pm. First come, first served.
6. Al the participants will dance a Mexican song (no
longer than 5 minutes). Participants must bring their own song in a CD and
show to event no later than 6:40 pm.
7. In the preliminary phase judges will evaluate all the competitors
using the Evaluation Criteria. (Visual presentation, Rhythm and
Choreography). Three couples/singles will be selected from the preliminary
group to advance to the finals.
8. The three couples/singles finalists will be notified via phone at the
end of the preliminary phase (February 24th, 10 pm).
9. The final competition will be held at the University
of Wisconsin-Madison on March 3rd, 2006 at 9:30 pm in the event: Dance with
Mexico (Latin Night). In this final round, each couple/single will present
the same Mexican song they danced for the preliminary phase. The order in
which they will dance will be random.
10. The Organizers reserve the right to change the
competition system in the preliminary and final round.
11. The participants will accept the decisions of the
judges and the Organizers as final and indisputable.
12. The judging panel will consist of 4-6 experienced
professional dancers
